The saying goes “Aussie kids love Vegemite” and as Aussie kids grow up we still love Vegemite! Even Kevin Rudd carries his Vegemite with him when he travels and although President Obama described it as “horrible” we will always stand by our national treasure. It is a part of the Australian culture that will survive the ages, but the people at Kraft know that the health views of Australian’s are changing. There have been many media reports about Kraft changing the recipe of Vegemite to reduce sodium levels, much to the horror of Vegemite lovers. So they have come up with a solution…
A low sodium Vegemite for children! My First Vegemite has 50% less sodium than the original Vegemite with added iron and vitamin B6. They have even added in vitamin B12, which has ruined my party trick of making bets with people over whether Vegemite contains vitamin B12!
